Open Olive Mills
During the months of October and November, Umbria celebrates one of its most iconic products: olive oil. Frantoi Aperti invites visitors to explore the region’s rural soul through ancient villages, abbeys, castles, and traditional olive mills scattered across the Umbrian countryside. It is also a wonderful opportunity to experience local games, music, and traditions, as well as to taste and learn how to recognize authentic extra virgin olive oil.
Tickets can be purchased directly on the bus or at the ticket office in Piazza Matteotti (corner of Via Mazzini), open daily from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.
The tour includes an audio guide available in six languages, with disposable earphones provided on board. This experience allows agriturismo guests to combine relaxation with city discovery—without worrying about parking or complex itineraries—offering a convenient and complete way to get to know Perugia.
Coloring the Skies
Every spring, Castiglione del Lago hosts Coloriamo i Cieli, one of the most enchanting international festivals dedicated to kites and hot air balloons. The event transforms the skies over Lake Trasimeno into a breathtaking display of colors, shapes, and movement, attracting enthusiasts and visitors from across Italy.
The festival goes beyond kite flying, offering a rich and varied program that includes live performances, music, creative workshops for children, exhibitions, and round-table discussions focused on contemporary themes connected to the Umbrian territory.
Spello Flower Festival
Every year in June, Spello transforms into a breathtaking open-air mosaic thanks to the renowned Infiorata, one of Umbria’s most captivating artistic and religious events. The streets of the village are adorned with intricate floral artworks—carpets of petals and elaborate compositions created entirely from flowers, carefully gathered and prepared by local artisans in the weeks leading up to the event.
The festival is a vibrant celebration of color, fragrance, and creativity, involving the entire community in a truly unique atmosphere. Alongside the floral displays, the program features exhibitions, guided tours, workshops, musical performances, and cultural initiatives that allow visitors to discover the tradition and meticulous craftsmanship that have made the Infiorata di Spello famous around the world.
Eurochocolate
Every November, Perugia turns into the capital of chocolate thanks to Eurochocolate—a ten-day festival during which the historic city center becomes a stage for tastings, shows, installations, and themed activities. The event celebrates both major international brands and artisanal chocolate-making, with interactive workshops, live cooking shows, activities for adults and children, and presentations by producers from around the world.
The heart of the festival beats in Perugia’s historic center, among its iconic squares and streets, making each visit a unique experience where flavor meets the beauty of the city.
Umbria jazz winter
From December 30 to January 3, Orvieto hosts Umbria Jazz Winter, the winter edition of the renowned festival dedicated to jazz and its many influences. For five days, the historic city center comes alive with concerts, jam sessions, gospel performances, and shows held in some of the city’s most evocative venues—such as theaters, churches, and historic palaces—creating a warm and engaging atmosphere in the heart of winter.

Festival of the Two Worlds
From late June to mid-July, the city of Spoleto hosts the Festival dei Due Mondi, an international event that brings together music, theatre, dance, and visual arts. Founded in 1958 by composer Gian Carlo Menotti, the festival transforms Spoleto’s historic center into an open-air stage where tradition and avant-garde creativity coexist.

Every spring, Umbria celebrates Cantine Aperte, Italy’s most important wine tourism event, offering visitors the chance to explore local wineries and taste quality wines directly at their place of production. Wineries open their doors with guided tours, tastings, walks through the vineyards, meetings with winemakers, and activities designed to highlight Umbria’s rich winemaking tradition.
It is a unique opportunity to experience wine in an authentic way, discover the stories behind the producers, and immerse yourself in a convivial atmosphere that celebrates the culture and identity of the region.
Ceri Festival
Held every year on May 15 in Gubbio, the Festa dei Ceri honors Sant’Ubaldo Baldassini and is one of Umbria’s most powerful and deeply felt traditions. Three towering wooden structures—the Ceri—topped with the statues of Saint Ubaldo, Saint George, and Saint Anthony Abbot, are carried on the shoulders of teams of ceraioli through the historic center, all the way up to the basilica overlooking the city.
At noon, the ceremonial lifting of the Ceri in Piazza Grande marks the official start of the celebration—an intense and spectacular moment that sets the race in motion. More than a folkloric event, the Festa dei Ceri is a powerful symbol of Gubbio and of Umbria itself, embodying identity, devotion, and community spirit.
